With more than 20 years’ experience in the newspaper and magazine industries, Jennifer specializes in engaging, informative lifestyle features, editing services, photography and promotional writing for both the business and non-profit sectors.
Karen Davies, Creature Crazy Producer/Director, Cedarwood Productions Inc.
Award winning producer Karen Davies is the co-owner of Cedarwood Productions, a successful Vancouver Island production company established in 2003 and awarded, amongst others, the 2014 WorldMediaFest Silver award, Tourism category, (Hamburg), the 2010 “Business of the Year” award by the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, and the Houston film festival Remi award for creativity.
She has produced two successful television series: 40 episodes of Flavours of the West Coast (the cookbook from which won the 2012 Gourmand Cookbook of the Year Award, (Paris)) and 26 episodes of The Hard Way, a business reality show where small businesses seek success through mentorship and challenges, and which is now airing internationally.
Sharlene Smith, CommPlan Canada
Based in Victoria, B.C., Sharlene Smith APR, FCPRS, LM is a nationally accredited public relations practitioner educated in public relations and business administration. She established CommPlan Canada in 1997 after a 20-year career in communications and management in senior positions in B.C. and Saskatchewan.
Specializing in communication management services, Sharlene has a reputation for combining strategic thinking with the practical ability to get things done. In addition to her consulting practice, Sharlene is a founding member of both the University of Victoria and Royal Roads University’s public relations programs where she has taught hundreds of public relations practitioners from across Canada.
Jacqueline Staples, JDStaples Systems Consultants
Based in Vancouver, BC, Jacqueline is a talented systems consultant. She has a broad range of clients including: developers, architects, landscape architects, interior designers, project managers, general contractors, retailers, lawyers, non-profit organizations, film production, media personalities, communication consultants, professional sports players, urban planners, government bodies (provincial and Crown), and insurance brokerages.
A Macintosh expert, she was first introduced to Apple in 1988, and has adapted to each successive generation of Macs up to and including the current hardware running on OS X Sierra and iOS 10. She has extensive experience and expertise with Microsoft Word and Excel, Apple iWork (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) and experience with various Adobe applications including Acrobat, InDesign and Illustrator, as well as OmniFocus, FastTrack Schedule, Evernote and other business applications.
